The statuette depicts a Sapper during the Somme offensive of 1916, he is dressed in full battle dress including the newly issued steel helmets which is strapped to his back pack. He carries the standard issue Lee Enfield .303 Rifle. It's working parts are protected from the water and mud by a canvas cover, buckled for easy access.

All our statues include an optional engraved plate on the wooden base. On the bronze statues the plate is jewellers brass and the pewter/ silver statues have a nickel silver plate.
